Magnum Dynalab Ltd.

Magnum Dynalab Etude was the benchmark tuner in its price class for over a decade. Sadly, all good things must come to an end, or in this case be renewed and reborn. With great pride, Magnum Dynalab introduces the MD-100, our latest addition to the renowned MD series of products. Sure to become the new "best in its class" FM tuner. Featuring the striking MD series cosmetics and new levels of functionality.

The MD-100

The MD-100, surmising over 20 years of experience in the design of FM tuning technology, offers not only a new reference in terms of sonic realism, but also yields the utmost in flexibility through our optional FTR (internal remote interface system) and standard balanced audio outputs

The MD-100 is the third addition to our renowned MD series of products. Our custom made 4-stage RF front end is sure to extract the most intricate signals from amongst the milieu of FM congestion that abounds in today's urban markets. Additional support is given through our custom Auto Blend RF circuit, which constantly monitors and varies your stereo separation insuring optimal "stereo quieting" during your listening sessions.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS:

Dual, keyed automatic gain control (AGC) - Monitors and maintains program signal level and clarity, along with providing a dramatic reduction in interference from strong, local stations.
BW 1/ BW 2 bandwidth control - Switchable to effectively control annoying sideband interference.
Mute circuit - noise-activated with manual defeat switch.
Auto Blend RF circuit - automatically monitors and varies stereo separation insuring optimal "stereo quieting" during your listening sessions.
Stereo/Mono Mode - User switchable.
Digital frequency display - Independent frequency counter derives input from tuner's local oscillator section and displays in soft, amber 0.5" LED numerals.
Balanced Outputs-allows Felxibility in system design
Precision Flywheel Tuning -gives accuracy and ease of tuning.
Specialty Capacitors in Analog Section -insures total frequency response.
WBT unbalanced RCA output connectors -low tolerance connector made of highly ductile "OFC" copper, 24 carat gold-plated; insures a solid contact for interconnects.

Through the hand matching of internal IF components, the MD-100 excels in RF Selectivity and tuning Sensitivity. The MD-100 will assure you the consistency of performance you, our customer, have come to expect of Magnum Dynalab.

The PRECISION ANALOGUE REMOTE SYSTEM
Is now available as an option on all production Magnum Dynalab tuners, receivers and as an update to all previous Magnum Dynalab tuners and receivers.

This extremely accurate and silent remote system was developed in conjunction with engineering support from Texas Instruments and Archronix Corporation of Toronto, Ontario.

The remote utilizes TI’s latest 16-bit ultra low power processor with 60 KB flash memory, 2048 bytes RAM, 125-ns instruction cycle time, 12-Bit A/D converter with internal reference, Sample-and-Hold and auto-scan, Dual 12-Bit D/A converters, 16-Bit timer_A with three capture/compare registers, supply voltage supervisor/monitor and numerous additional features.

Needless to say this is the most accurate tuning system ever found in a Magnum Dynalab tuner as the resolution exceeds even that of our precision tuning potentiometers with no potential for performance degradation due to mechanical wear. The user can switch between manual and auto tune simply by turning the remote control off with the hand-held.

Future software upgrades to this system will include an auto alignment feature to compensate for deviations as components age or operating parameters change. Presets are maintained in a non-volatile flash memory in case of any power interruption.
